Why is TheWorldWritesABook.com proposing
this project? First and foremost, to accomplish an amazing feat which could
only be possible during the contemporary age of the internet. Imagine a
book written by thousands, and possibly millions, of people throughout the
world, none of whom know each other, but all who share in a fantastic journey
without any knowledge of the destination, nor how or if we will get there.
We are hopeful that TheWorldWritesABook.com
will spur the collective imagination of humankind, and that the world will
be excited by the prospect of creating a work that reflects the global drive,
imagination, and creativity that the human race possesses. Who knows....maybe
a work of literature potentially written by the world's population will
exceed the quality of any previous work written by one person. Time will
tell.....
Of course, to the extent that ultimately there
are publishing opportunities available, we may explore any such possibilities.

will track the number of accepted snippets from each contributor, and provide
a running total on this website (see here).
In the event that we are successful in any publishing endeavors, a Grand
Prize of up to $25,000 will be paid to the individual responsible for most
of the accepted entries used in the story, with the amount dependent upon
the terms of the publishing contract, if any.
However, the publishing potential is not our primary focus. Instead it is
to bring the world together
to enjoy a global literary celebration
